Quick update to say that I'll be back to writing and updating blogs and stuff very soon. Check out my regular blog for details about the new addition to my home. :)
I'm really eager to get back into writing and I'm slowly reworking my schedule here at home so that I have time to write. It's a little difficult right now with a newborn who doesn't yet have a set routine of his own.
But I have a lot I want to work on. I still have to finish my first round of edits of White Crow and the first draft of my Dragons in Space story. But for now I'm going to work my way back into just writing everyday in general. I have some cute little story ideas I'd like to get on paper here soon and I'm also looking for some good/fun prompt challenges and such.
Well, that's all for now, dear readers. Thanks for reading and Happy Thursday!

Editing Update
Howdy readers!
I have finished the first read through of White Crow and have now started the rewriting process.
Editing is hard. First I went through and found everything that was wrong (which was a lot, of course)and now I'm going through and fixing it (which is hard). I'm also retyping it all into a new document. Seems crazy, but with all the changes and moving around I'm doing, it seemed the easiest route.
And I'm hopeful, I'm sure this new draft will be much much better than the first and I won't be so ashamed to let other people see it. :)
In other news, if you haven't already checked it out, the Husband and I are doing a blog together. He builds ships in bottles and I help him write the blog. Go check it out! Siemens Bottling Co

Micro Update
Yes, I and this blog are still alive, you know, barely. ;)
I'm a little more than half way through my first read over of White Crow. It's been really slow because life has been very busy the past couple months. Of course it's only going to get crazier, but I'll keep trying.
Thanks for reading and Happy Monday!

New Year=New Goals
So over at my regular blog I talked about some of my resolutions for this new year. I've got some writing goals in mind as well,of course.
So here they are!
So here they are!
Kristen's 2012 Writing Goals
- Edit/revise White Crow Novel and begin submitting to agents/publishers. This is daunting for me. I've only ever completed a manuscript once and then I killed it. I was like 13 and I knew it sucked. So I've never done this editing thing before. I've got the MS all ready to go and sitting in a binder, but every time I look at it I shudder. But I'm really going to try!
- Finish first draft of Dragons in Space (worst working title ever). What, write and edit two different projects at the same time? I'm either very brave or very stupid.
What are your writing goals for this new year?

Progress Report
Not much has happened in my writing world this past week.
I do a lot of my writing either early in the morning or when Will is napping. Well, he's had a nasty cold and hasn't been sleeping well, thus I don't get either sleep or writing time.
So, since the last time I updated, I've gotten a total of 2711 words added. Poo :( But I was able to write just this morning and it felt really good. And while I don't want to have to get up at 4:30 am to get more words like I did today, I'll keep trying to fit in more writing time.
I just need to learn to write well while child is up and TV is on. Not sure if that's possible for me. :)

NaNoWriMo Fail
So as of right now I have 12,498 words on my NaNo. There is no possible way for me to get 37,502 in the next two and a half days.
BUT, I am still determined to finish this project and for it to be at least 50,000 words. I think I've mentioned this before, but I can do at least 1200 words in a day (that's my new daily minimum, I have to write 1200 words, No Matter What!) So, when you do the math... *goes and does the math* I can get this thing to at least 50k words in about 31 days.
Can I turn December into my own NaNoWriMo? I guess so. My inability to get 50k this month had nothing to do with the month it self, it had to do with being sick for a lot of it. And while December can be a pretty busy month, what with church Christmas parties and visiting family for Christmas and such, it's no different than November.
Now, time to set my deadline! *does some more math and calender looking* I will have the first draft of Dragons in Space (worst working title ever) done by January 3, 2012. Just a side note, it's totally possible I can get it done by the end of Dec., but having a few extra days is helpful.
So, overall, NaNoWriMo was okay this year. I had a good story and I had done a fair amount of research and work before hand, so that made it easier. It's just very hard to write when you're too busy puking.
Congrats to all of those who won! And to those of you like me, be proud of the work and words you did get and if you still like your story, continue working on it.
Thanks to all of you who kept up with me on this blog. :) I'll continue to update this one but I can't promise any kind of consistency. So go meet me back at Kricket's Konfessions!

Week 3 of NaNoWriMo
So.... I haven't even broken 10k yet... :'( *sigh* But I'm not giving up. I've got 9 days left, not sure I can pump out over 40k in 9 days but I'm going to try!
I got distracted this last week with Little Boy's birthday and getting my apartment clean and such, so there was like no writing done. And even though this weeks got Thanksgiving, I'm not too worried about it. I'm not hosting it or anything. Just going to my sister's place. All I'm doing is making a chocolate moose pie, and that won't be hard, no actual baking for that.
So I'm not giving up. I'm going to keep trying and see how much I can do before the 30th. It's all about not getting distracted and spending all of my time writing with breaks to play with Little Boy and stuff.
And, if you want to get more daily/recent updates on word counts and such, follow me on Twitter. There's a link on the right.
Thanks for reading and keep it up fellow NaNoers! We're in the home stretch!
